ABOUT LONDON
London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. An
important settlement for around two millennia, London is today one of
the world's most important business, financial and cultural centres, and its
influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts

is a major tourist destination, with iconic landmarks including the Houses of

City of Westminster, the entertainment district of the West End has its focus

the city's Chinatown district, and just to the east is Covent Garden, an area
housing speciality shops and London's "Avenue of Stars" which honours achievers

Angel Islington's 2km long Upper Street has more bars and restaurants than any
other street in the UK. It was also the first street in the UK to have wireless

London Bridge is a bridge in London, England over the River Thames, between the
City of London and Southwark. It is between Cannon Street Railway Bridge
and Tower Bridge; it also forms the western end of the Pool of London. London's
original bridge made this one of the most famous bridge emplacements in the
world. It was the only bridge over the Thames in London until Westminster
Bridge was opened in 1750.
